Kylee Carbone is the director of talent development and marketing for Westminster Tool, MoldMaking Technology’s 2014 Leadtime Leader Award winner, which has made a name for itself in both plastic injection moldmaking and employee development. The company’s unique employee-centric business model has produced a workforce of innovative, proactive problem-solvers who are committed to delivering the highest quality solutions to its customers. Kylee is an integral part of this team.
She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Connecticut State University with a concentration in marketing. Shortly after graduation, Kylee accepted a marketing internship at Westminster, which led to a full-time position. In addition to marketing, Kylee is very involved with workforce development, not only at Westminster, but also within the community. She was recognized by the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce with a “40 under 40” award, which honors citizens younger than 40 who consistently demonstrate excellence in their profession, as well as leadership, commitment and service to the region.
Kylee also serves as the event champion for the Eastern Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (EAMA; eamainc.org), a non-profit organization comprised of manufacturers in eastern Connecticut, south central Massachusetts and northwest Rhode Island. EAMA promotes manufacturing careers, and development and advances in manufacturing education, and works with its education and training partners to improve the regional manufacturing workforce. EAMA also creates a platform for its diverse group of more than 50 member companies, which employ more than 12,000 workers, to advance the region’s manufacturing agenda.
Kylee says she strives to take on new roles and responsibilities that may not be directly related to marketing. To her new MMT EAB position she brings a solid knowledge base, high level of experience and true passion for topics related to company culture, education and workforce development, which are consistently hot issues for the mold manufacturing community. Kylee is also interested in using her role on the board to explore the business side of moldmaking, including how other companies market via social media and best practices for sales teams.
Kylee and her boyfriend Justin recently built their first home in Chaplin, Connecticut. They are both avid lovers of the outdoors and spend their free time tending to their four gardens, 24 hens and Rocky the rooster, all while enjoying the company of their two black labs, Emma and Zuzu.
