Play Ball!
A Micro Mold employee had the chance to throw the opening pitch at a minor league baseball game thanks to being recognized by his peers—and his company.
Nothing beats going to the ballpark on a beautiful day and enjoying your favorite team—except maybe throwing the opening pitch! Last week Micro Mold Co., Inc. and its sister company Plastikos, Inc. gave one of their employees the opportunity to represent their two companies at an Erie SeaWolves game as a part of their “Above & Beyond” recognition program. This program highlights individual members of the Micro Mold and Plastikos team who “consistently exceed company standards and expectations, by truly going above and beyond in their respective position” according to Micro Mold General Manager Ryan Katen.
A panel of Departmental Managers was created to evaluate nomination ballots, which were submitted by employees, and to ultimately choose a deserving individual to represent the company at an Erie SeaWolves baseball game. Micro Mold maintenance employee Tom Sargent was nominated by his fellow peers and ultimately chosen by the company’s managers due to his dedication to the team and for consistently stepping up to tackle a new task whenever needed. “I know Tom is always thinking about the day-to-day needs of Micro Mold and the needs of his fellow teammates,” said Mike Durfee, Micro Mold’s foreman. “If there is something that he can do to help, he will go the extra mile to do so.”
Ryan added, “It’s the little things in life that over time add up to much bigger results. Tom’s extra efforts truly add up to a significant positive impact at Micro Mold. I’m proud of Tom and all members of our team, who go the extra mile to deliver exceptional results for our customers.”
Micro Mold/Plastikos provided tickets to all employees and family members who wanted to attend the game. Just another reason these companies were MMT’s 2013 Leadtime Leader Honorable Mention!
