Visit CUMSA USA at NPE 2024 to explore its new offerings, including the Long Stroke Slide, designed to streamline mold construction, reduce manufacturing costs and significantly decrease mold size. The product features the company’s patented Double Rack system, which enables a travel distance of up to 50 mm without the need for hydraulic cylinders or angled pins guides, simplifying the mold building process. The slide is 100% mechanical, easy to adjust on the insert and offers smooth sliding without the need for lubrication. Initially available in two models, both featuring a hardened insert, the LC model of the Long Stroke Slide includes a pre-machined cooling line, while the LS model is the standard long slide.

CUMSA is also offering sneak peek of its latest traceability solution, In-Mold Traceability. Developed over the past few months, this product is designed to provide more reliable and readable traceability on molded parts, offering numerous advantages over current solutions. The in-mold traceability device can engrave up to four pieces of information, in about the space of a regular 16-mm date stamp. According to the company, this information is made clearer, more linear and detailed and is easier to read. It also offers the the opportunity for an assortment of information using just one device for date, reference and so on.

This product can also be paired/connected to the Traceability Calendar, which is a device that traces when information must be updated. The calendar is preset with the info the user wants to track — based on what’s set up, the device notifies the user that they are molding incorrect information. (There will be a red light on the calendar box which needs to be reset by the user once the dater has been updated). The molder updates the information and in a few minutes production can continue. The traceability calendar creates a report detailing when the information has been updated, at the end of each production batch or when it may be needed.

Following successful initial testing, the team looks forward to discussing the benefits and sharing detailed information about this project. Guillem Gibert, a member of the R&D team, will be available to discuss attendee feedback, experiences and suggestions for essential improvements or alterations to the product. Each visitor will receive a sample to experience the quality of the technology firsthand.
