Hasco sponsors the Excellence in Production competition because it fits its aims to improve processes and results within the industries of tool and moldmaking.
This year, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) presented the Toolmaker of the Year award. More than 300 tool and moldmaking companies entered the competition, which is divided into four categories: in-house tool and moldmaking, fewer/more than 50 employees, external tool and moldmaking. Fourteen finalists were selected in the first round. The companies then competed for the title of Toolmaker of the Year 2018—a prestigious award in the industry.
The jury's evaluation focused on the technological performance and organizational aspects of the companies. The members of the jury for the Excellence in Production competition include representatives from science and federal politics, as well as from the associations in the industry.
