Nominations for the American Mold Builders Association (AMBA, Indianapolis, Indiana) Mold Builder of the Year (MBOY) Award and the AMBA Tooling Trailblazer of the Year (TTOY) Award are now being accepted. Award recipients will be recognized at the AMBA Conference 2021 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, June 22-24, 2021, at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, and will receive a prestigious award and a $5,000 scholarship grant to be given to the educational institution, project or initiative of their choice.
Established in partnership with the AMBA, the MBOY and TTOY Awards are both sponsored by AMBA partner Progressive Components (Wauconda, Illinois). According to Managing Director Kym Conis, the awards support a key initiative that is more relevant than ever. “Workforce development is an issue that continues to grow in importance and addressing it is more urgent than ever,” says Conis. “We are looking forward to partnering again with Progressive Components to support AMBA member companies in their educational outreach initiatives. Together, we can help move the needle on the education of the current mold manufacturing workforce and its recruitment efforts!”
The AMBA Mold Builder of the Year Award recognizes an individual from an AMBA member company who is an outstanding industry professional promoting education in their community, in their state or on a national level. Commitment to technology and innovation along with dedication to ideals like honesty, fairness and creativity in meeting challenges within the industry are characteristics deemed necessary for candidates.
The AMBA Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award, now in its third year, is presented to an AMBA member company whose accomplishments have made great strides in education and/or recruitment over the past 12 months, have increased mold manufacturing industry visibility amongst students, parents, teachers and/or counselors and have plans to continue educational outreach.
To nominate either yourself or another AMBA member company for either award, visit AMBA.org/resources/scholarship-opportunities. In addition to receiving the prestigious awards at AMBA Conference 2021, both winners will be promoted throughout the industry in The American Mold Builder magazine, the AMBA website and in industry publications.
The deadline to submit a nomination is May 21, 2021.
